Skyward Tips & Tricks
APA is in our 3rd school year of using Skyward and we have a few tips and tricks to help you navigate the system. Each month we will be publishing small tips and tricks in this staff newsletter to help everyone better understand Skyward.听
听Logging In to Skyward听
A common question we see regarding Skyward is the log in process.
Tip #1听
On the Skyward sign-in page there is a small dropdown below the login box. The dropdown tells the system which page to direct you to at login. If the selection in the dropdown menu is a page you don鈥檛 have access to, the system won鈥檛 log you in.
TIP: Set the dropdown to 鈥淎ll Areas鈥�
- Enroll New Student/Sibling听is where our new families enroll their student to APA.听
- Family/Student Access听will direct you to Skyward Family Access if you have a student at APA.听
- Secured Access听logs you in as a staff member only.
- All Areas听logs you in to every role or permission you may have in Skyward but allow you to toggle back and forth between pages in the system.听(see Tip #3)听
Tip #2听
Once your sign-in page is set to 鈥淎ll Areas鈥� go to Bookmarks at the top of your screen and select 鈥淏ookmark This Tab鈥�. This will save your bookmark to always open up with the correct setting for 鈥淎ll Areas鈥�.听
Tip #3听
Access in Skyward is dependent on your role and if you have students at APA. You may have access to the following modules:听Educator Access Plus听and听Student Management.
Educator Access Plus听allows teachers and instructors access to the classes assigned to them.
Student Management听is focused on administrative access. This module allows users to manage the school as a whole. Access to Student Management will depend on your role at APA. Student Management enables users to access IEP鈥檚 or information for students in your groups classes.听
To toggle between these modules use the arrow next to home and select the appropriate dropdown selection.听
- Educator Access Plus 鈥� teacher and instructor access to classes听
- Family Access 鈥� If you have a student at APA, you can quickly enter Family Access from here instead of logging in to two different areas听
- Student Management 鈥� whole school/administrative access听
- Product Setup 鈥� very few will have access to this.听
